What is High Definition?

HD stands for 'high definition' television. HD is a television broadcast and pre-recorded video standard that delivers widescreen picture quality vastly superior to standard definition television and DVD.

Watching HD broadcasts and DVD's on a HD television is visually stunning.

Colours are more vibrant and small details are much clearer.

Look at the television section in electrical retailers such as Comet and John Lewis and you will see row after row of these next generation HD televisions being offered for sale. The technology is also referred to as 'LCD' or 'Plasma Display' television and will have an 'HD' or 'HD Ready' logo on the front. Most people will own one of these revolutionary televisions in future as manufacturers cease standard definition television production.

The significance of the introduction of HD has been compared to the switch several decades ago from black and white to colour televisions.

High Definition Wedding DVD's

I am fully prepared for this exciting technology, recording all weddings using a state-of-the-art Sony high definition video camera. I am proud to be one of the first videographers in the UK to offer this service.

All editing is performed using professional industry standard HD software. Your recording is kept in the HD format at all stages throughout the creative process, meaning no loss of quality which can occur with traditional editing systems which are still in widespread use.

Because of the requirement to play HD footage on a special HD-DVD player, which most people don't yet own, I currently supply your recording on a standard definition DVD. This means that you, your family and your friends will be able to watch your wedding on any existing DVD player or computer. The quality of the standard definition DVD supplied is of course excellent, however you will be amazed at how much clearer and detailed your recording looks when viewed in high definition!

I will begin supplying high definition DVD's as standard once the technology has become established for the home user.

I will archive your edited HD recording, so that in future, when you and your loved ones are equipped with a HD TV and suitable DVD player, you will be able to view your wedding day recording in stunning high definition detail.
