I specialise in high quality reportage style wedding photography, mixed with a selection of traditionally poses to give a wonderful collection of photos for you to view for years to come. This means I will discreetly take photographs throughout the day, keeping formally posed photos to a minimum. This is a great way of capturing the atmosphere of your wedding day, in a way which cannot be done using traditional posed photography alone. I have a range of photography packages available, whichever package you choose, I will supply all your photos copyright free as digital negatives on CD, enabling you to view and print your photos at your leisure. For a small charge I can also create a 'slideshow' of your photos set to music of your choice. This can be played on any DVD player or computer and makes for an interesting and exciting alternative to a traditional wedding album. Most wedding photographers will charge a small fortune to provide digital negatives on CD, the alternative is to charge you a premium to order each photo. Printing a set of photos for both sets of parents, grandparents, siblings etc. can add hundreds, sometimes thousands, of pounds to your wedding costs. Should you wish, for a small additional charge I am happy to arrange for a selection of photos to be printed and set into premium quality wedding albums, alternatively I can recommend a professional photo developer (not some high street 1 hour photo lab!) who will print any number of your photos for a very reasonable rate per photo and at significantly cheaper cost than what most wedding photographers charge as part of their 'all inclusive' packages. Based in Edinburgh, my services are available throughout the whole of Scotland and northern England. My philosophy is simple:
Whether you're inviting one hundred or a handful of guests, whether your ceremony is civil, religious or a civil-partnership pink wedding, I work in the background to discreetly photograph your special day. I am always happy to meet with you prior to your wedding and to attend your wedding rehearsal (my schedule and your location permitting) to view your venue and finalise any specific requirements you may have. Alternatively you may prefer to discuss your requirements via telephone or email.
Depending on the package you choose I will photograph the bridal party preparations or arrive at your wedding venue shortly before the ceremony is due to begin in order to photograph the groom greeting the guests as they arrive.
I quietly and discreetly monitor and photograph your event. If you wish, I will also take a small number of traditional 'posed' photographs. These consist of formal or informal portraits of the bride and groom, the wedding party and the guests. I will usually capture full length and close-up shots. Depending on the number of people attending your wedding, traditional photography sessions can take a long time to complete. During the time I have recorded wedding DVD's I have witnessed photo calls which have taken up to 2 hours to complete. This can be really tiresome and stressful for the bride and groom in particular. Your wedding day is a celebration, the less time spent posing for photos the more time you have to enjoy yourselves. I usually keep traditional photography to a small number of photos, you are very welcome to discuss who you would like to appear in any traditional photographs you would like taken. Bear in mind that you and your guests will feel much more relaxed and therefore enjoy yourselves more if you're not spending too long posing for photos! A combination of reportage with a small selection of traditional photos is a very popular option and highly recommended. You really will appreciate this when you see your photos!
When my services are no longer required (this will vary depending on the package you choose) I will quietly leave you and your guests to continue your celebrations. Please note that my attitude is different to some photographers, I don't 'clockwatch', waiting to leave by a specific time. Even the best planned wedding can experience delays here and there, I will stay until the end of your chosen package, even if there is a significant delay to the proceedings.
The next few days will be spent reviewing and editing your photos, ensuring you are supplied with a beautiful and perfect collection of shots, all supplied on a CD. Your disc will usually be ready shortly after you return from your honeymoon, the perfect present to welcome you home.
